It was straight out of a fashion shoot scene, models, lights, grip assistants, I knew I was in for a treat as I walked into the Look Fabulous Tour featuring Linsday Adler and Lou Freeman. There they were, Adler and Freeman looking fabulous with Spider holsters and Canon camera’s strapped to their side, with hair blowing looking all fierce. Okay, okay, so maybe I Beyonced it up a little, you get the idea. The scene was set for a fabulous day of learning and I was so game. How did I hear of this tour you ask? I came upon a webinar on Creative Live several months back with Lindsay Adler, lets just say I was an immediate fan. A lot of her teachings coincided with what I was doing and it just gave me more confidence in my methods. I briefly had an e-mail chat with her and swore when she came to town I would sooo be at the seminar. Lucky for me, a few months later Look Fabulous Tour was in full swing and being sponsored by the fabulous Millers Lab. The two woman went through Fashion Flare lighting schemes, inspiration, styling, marketing and more. And with the live demonstrations, it was so good it would make you want to slap your mamma. I left feeling totally inspired and empowered. The icing on the cake was that these two woman were totally down to earth and answered any questions you had. If you missed out I would totally suggest hitching a ride to the next town to try to catch the tour. I promise you will be totally inspired. I am so excited to say that Laurie Perez Photography got our work shown in the Millers Lab booth this year at the PPA and WPPI conferences. We are thrilled that our work can be examples of inspirations for other photographers. The canvas was a gift form them and now hangs in our studio. It’s huge and very impressive in the photo studio gallery. We heart Millers! Check it out.

Thought I would share this awesome little photo adventure. Houston Fashion week member Victor Quinteros, asked us to capture the Jeans Fashion show. So here is a snippet of our night! Let me say that fashion shows can be intense, especially being back stage with hangers and models flying all over the place! We still got some rocking shots and really enjoyed photographing this jean inspired show.

This week has been eventful! Not just with shoots, but living up to my rightful title as “The Cat Whisper.” Ever since I could remember I have been saving kittens and cats from danger. I recall one time I found a baby kitten in an abandoned home, how did I know she was in there you ask?… I heard it meow from outside and crawled in through a broken window to get the cat. The sad part is I am so allergic to cats so I can’t own one! But, I sure do enjoy saving them! Maybe I would even enjoy doing some pet photography. Check out this little cute-eyed tabby that I found recently under my house. I think someone left her and ran. Good news is I found her a home, and her new momma is a photographer, so you know she is super cool! Now, don’t be leaving cats at my doorstep, if you looking to save one. Haha. Just do the right thing and found these little ones a good home.
